Coir Board had established an International Coir Museum in the Diamond Jubilee year, by depicting the historical events and evolution of technological advancements made in Coir Sector. The International Museum was inaugurated by Shri Oommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala on 27th May 2014 at Coir Board Complex, Kalavoor. This Museum is opened to the public.
A must visit if you are in Alappuzha.
This museum is well maintained & it has all the ancient equipment that was used at the inception of the industry to make coir products.
There were also beautiful pictures made out of coir and various ornaments, which are so natural as such that we were amazed. One could not think it was made out of coir.

There is souvenir shop attached to the Museum where visitors can have the joy of shopping coir handicrafts, coir doormats, coir ornaments etc.
